All I Want For Christmas

It is this time of year when we start to make Christmas lists in our heads if not on paper of all the things we would love to get. Well, this Christmas all I really want is to be in Rome, serving along side my team. I don't want stuff, I don't want more clothes, or even cool gadgets, all I want is to be able to say I have finished raising all my support and that I can pack my bags and begin this ministry in Rome.

So if you want to get me something this Christmas that I really want, don't head to the store, or pick up your knitting needles, just join my financial support team and make my Christmas wish come true!

I need $6295 a month pledged for my Christmas Wish to come true. Right now I have $2465. How sweet would it be to have my Support raised by Christmas and be able to point to Jesus on the day we celebrate His birth and thank Him for the lovely gift of love in His great provision, and then to spend the rest of my year serving him in Rome as a thank you for all they ways He has blessed me again and again!

Jesus is after all the Reason for the Season, and if my only gift was what made it possible for me to serve Him all year long doing what He has called me to do it would just be soooo cool!

I have been following your blog for some time now and have been praying that you would reach your goal. I would love to be able to help out but I am also a missionary going to Italy and money is tight for us. I was thinking about your goal though and wondering why it is such a large sum? I know that is a very personal question and would totally understand if you choose not to answer. My husband and I have four kids and we live on way less than a third of that amount every month. I plan to continue to pray for your journey and just wanted to encourage you that if God has told you to go share his love in Italy... you should just go and not let money get in your way and stop you. I was raised an MK and am now raising my own kids as MK's and I know that God is always faithful to provide what we we need. I'd love to hear from you. God Bless you!

Anne, thank you for your prayers. I know that it seems like a lot of money. It is a lot of money, I am sure like you there are other ways to get to Italy to serve God for less money. However, I am part of a fantastic Mission, ReachGlobal which does an excellent job of preparing and caring for their missionaries, and not only was I called to be a missionary in Italy I feel as though God called me to this specific Mission and Team in Rome.

The cost listed is not what I make, I can and will live off of much less. The cost includes many things; housing, language school, training, ministry expenses, travel, insurance, and retirement as well as a small portion that goes to ReachGlobal to help them care for all of the missionaries they have out on the field and some other things as well. A lot of experience and wisdom goes into each missionary support schedule and I am confident that I will with God's provision make it to the field, and serve Him there for a long time!

Good luck on your own journey, and I hope that you and your family adjust well to life in Italy. Maybe I will bump into you sometime.

God bless!
